Campaigning to make sport safer

Shaun Smith played AFL at the highest level, 109 games with Melbourne and North Melbourne. Shaun recently made headlines after receiving a $1.4 million insurance payout due to the lingering effects of concussions from his playing career.
Shaun remains supportive of people playing sport and he just wants to be part of making it safer. Both his son and daughter play at the highest level, Joel with the Melbourne (AFL) and Amy has been signed with North Melbourne (AFLW).
Shaun is now a campaigner for better concussion management protocols and education programs. He has made significant personal donations to Sports Health Check to help fund independent concussion research.
